Fairhaven College invites applications for a tenure-track, Asst. Professor position to begin Fall 2018. Review of applications for this position will begin December 1, 2017. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in history or the social sciences or in an appropriate interdisciplinary field such as Chican@/Latinx Studies, Ethnic Studies, American Studies, Feminist Studies, or Comparative Cultural Studies with a specialization within the social sciences and or U.S. history.  Of particular interests are: Economics, Urban Studies, Geography, Environmental Studies, Sociology, Anthropology and Political Science. The ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to teach a variety of courses in Chican@/Latinx studies that include quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research at the introductory undergraduate level and be able to supervise students’ work that applies these methodologies. The successful candidate would hold an academic post within Fairhaven College and The American Cultural Studies Program and would be required to teach interdisciplinary core courses and electives in both of these areas. The position requires teaching at both the introductory and advanced undergraduate levels; an active research program; and service to Fairhaven College, ACS, the university and to the profession.  Criteria for promotion in Fairhaven College are described in the Fairhaven College Unit Evaluation Plan.
