The University of Nevada, Reno announces an opening for a tenure-track joint position in Communication Studies and the Gender, Race, and Identity (GRI) Program at the rank of Assistant Professor, specializing in Latina/o communication studies. The successful candidate will have a strong background in interdisciplinary approaches and must have research and teaching interests in intersections of gender, race, class, ethnicity, sexuality or related areas.

We invite applications from candidates whose research and teaching focuses on Latina/o studies from a variety of communication subfields including but not limited to rhetoric, performance, family communication, intercultural communication, interpersonal communication, and/or critical theories. The successful candidate will have a strong background in some combination of research topics and methods that could include community-based research; critical race theory; border theories; queer theory; Latina identity; race, gender, and leadership; global Chicana and Latina feminisms, LGBTQ Latinx communication and culture; Latinx public advocacy and policy; participant action research (PAR); and/or interdisciplinary or intersectional work with critical/feminist/queer orientations.
