Our second Summer Institute took place at UIC from June 20 to June 29, 2016. Arlene Dávila (NYU) gave our opening talk and Albert Laguna (Yale) joined us as our featured guest. We were also joined by program mentors Ralph Cintrón (UIC), Cary Cordova (UT Austin), Johanna Fernández (Baruch College), Edwin Lamboy (The City College of New York), and Daniel Solórzano (UCLA); Gianna Mosser (Northwestern University Press); Rebecca Vonderlack-Navarro (Latino Policy Forum); Angel Ysaguirre (Illinois Humanities); Lourdes Torres (Depaul University and Latino Studies
); and former IUPLR/Mellon fellows Ariel Arnau (CUNY), Ana Baez (UIC), Ryan Hamilton (Brown), Yvette Martínez-Vu (UCLA), and Marilu Medrano.
We're grateful to UIC's Latin American and Latino Studies Program, Great Cities Institute, and Graduate College for hosting our sessions. We would also like to thank Maria Bucio and the staff of the Resurrection Project for hosting our out-of-town fellows. Full schedule here.
